Commodore 64 Repair – 4
C64 – Fault “Dead” black screen
This modified machine was shipped from Belgium if I remember correctly. And I’m sure this chap had sold this machine, only to get it back many years later.
Now, if you want to save a C64 from the bin, it’s got to be one you owned way back when. Ebay finds aren’t really worth it, unless it’s a Aldi/G or a Mk1
Hard wired printer port and tons of 10amp cable!
Urm.. No Comment.
Humm.. Misc unattached wire, with what seems like a broken push button on the end.
You’ll like this.. “not a lot” My handy plug in tester. Very low.. PSU is good tho.
The handy thing with my little tester is that it keeps ya hands free. Turning the machine off and on, you get a different voltage.. This can only mean one thing. But surely it’s not that simple? Is it?
Yep.. Put some pressure on the switch and it frigging works! Time to dig out a donor.
Solder pads look tip top.
Ooo look.. This is the other end of the printer port.
Switched changed with another from a donor. Doesn’t even look like I’ve touched it!
Ta Da!.. And it’s even got his own custom kernel.. Love it! ;D
